About John Sant' Ambrogio

John Sant'Ambrogio, a masterful cellist whose illustrious career has left a profound impact on the music scene. Revered for his extraordinary talent, Sant'Ambrogio has made lasting contributions to several musical groups, including the Saint Louis String Quartet, the Giovanni String Quartet, and Washington University's Eliot Trio.

His influence extends into the orchestral realm, having served as the principal cellist for the Casals Festival Orchestra in 1969 and 1970, as well as with the Grand Teton Music Festival in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, from 1980 to 1985. Apart from orchestral engagements, John Sant'Ambrogio has demonstrated his artistry with the Zimbler Sinfonietta and held the role of principal cello with the Boston Ballet Orchestra.

In collaborative endeavors, John Sant'Ambrogio plays a pivotal role in the Generation Gap Piano Trio, partnering with violinist Dmitri Pogorelov and pianist Judith Lynn Stillman. Together, they create harmonies that bridge generational divides, showcasing the enduring allure of classical music.
